Introduction...

Malabar Islamic Cultural and Educational Society (MICES) is a charitable society registered at Calicut under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.  Currently the scope of its activities cover the Malabar region only. Malabar, the northern region of Kerala state is located in the South-Western coastal side of India. It has a unique position in world history, a position that is ignored by many! The seeds of European Colonialism in the Eastern Hemisphere were first laid in Malabar by Vasco de Gama, when he set his feet in Calicut, on 20th May 1498.

That was the beginning of Westernization of India and English Education in Indian continent. It is ironical that the Portuguese paved the way for the spread of English Language in India!

Well, we at MICES are interested in this bit of history for two reasons! All educational, cultural, social and charitable projects of MICES are based in a 12-acres plot in Areekode, which once belonged to King Samoothiri. Secondly, the first project of MICES was an English medium school, the MICES PUBLIC SCHOOL the first of its kind in Areekode!

With the Blessings of Almighty Allah, MICES has now grown and is growing! AlHamdulillah!

Due to some practical reasons MICES had to abandon the MICES PUBLIC SCHOOL from the list of its projects and turned its attention to other more rewarding charity projects.

Now MICES has the following projects actively running:

MICES Projects currently in progress
